Viele teils lebensrettende Behandlungen sind erst durch die Anästhesie möglich. Die Anästhesiologie hat sich damit zu einem unverzichtbaren Fachgebiet innerhalb der Medizin entwickelt. Selbst umfangreiche, komplexe und schwierige operative Eingriffe können in heutiger Zeit mit ihrer Hilfe sicher durchgeführt werden. Unsere Klinik betreut Patienten vom Frühgeborenen bis zum Senior während operativer Eingriffe und vieler diagnostischer Verfahren. Außerdem ist kaum ein anderes Fach so interdisziplinär vernetzt wie die Anästhesiologie. Mit den Bereichen Intensivmedizin, Schmerztherapie und der Transfusionsmedizin mit eigener Blutbank ist sie hervorragend aufgestellt und bieten sowohl Fachärzten, Assistenzärzten, Studierenden als auch Mitarbeitenden der Pflege bzw. Intensivpflege auf den Stationen und im OP hervorragende Bedingungen in der Ausbildung und im Arbeitsalltag.

Durch ein von der Klinik organisiertes fachärztliches Entwicklungsprogramm wurde ich im Vorfeld zudem zusätzlich auf die neue Position als Oberärztin vorbereitet. Der alltägliche Austausch mit den anderen Disziplinen macht die Arbeit darüber hinaus interessant, spannend und fachlich enorm bereichernd.

Behandlungsspektrum

In unserer Klinik werden pro Jahr über 17.000 Anästhesieverfahren an den Standorten Bethel, Johannesstift und Mara durchgeführt. Dabei kommt das gesamte Spektrum an modernsten anästhesiologischen Verfahren zum Einsatz inklusive Regionalanästhesien in Stimulationstechnik oder sonographisch gesteuert. Besondere anästhesiologische Schwerpunkte stellen die Neuroanästhesie, die Kinderanästhesie (eines der größten Kinderzentren Deutschlands), die Traumaversorgung (überregionales Traumazentrum), die geburtshilfliche Anästhesie (Level I Perinatalzentrum) und die Abdominalchirurgie dar. Intensivmedizinisch werden in den 36 Intensiv- und 12 IMC-Betten pro Jahr über 3.000 Patienten versorgt. Neben einem intensivmedizinischen Spektrum, das dem der anästhesiologischen Themenschwerpunkte entspricht, erfolgt die Versorgung von internistischen Patienten am Standort Johannesstift interdisziplinär unter anästhesiologischer Leitung. Weitere Aushängeschilder unserer Klinik sind die Schmerzstation mit 27 Betten sowie die zur Klinik gehörende Blutbank mit hämostaseologischem Konsildienst.

    Unsere Klinik führt die seltenen und nur in wenigen Städten angebotenen Kurse in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) durch und bildet damit Ärzte in einem Konzept aus, das das standardisierte diagnostische und therapeutische Handlungsabläufe in der frühen innerklinischen Erstversorgung von schwerverletzten Patienten definiert.

    Unsere Klinik bildet gemeinsam mit der Berufsfeuerwehr Bielefeld Mobile Retter aus. Diese werden in einem Notfall alarmiert, sofern sie sich in der Nähe eines Unfalls oder eines gemeldeten Notfalls befinden, und überbrücken die Zeit bis zur Ankunft des Notarztes mit Maßnahmen der 1. Hilfe.

    Wissenschaft und Forschung

    Allgemeine Informationen und Infrastruktur:

    Die Qualität der wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse steht und fällt mit den Kolleginnen und Kollegen, die die Projekte planen, umsetzen und auswerten. Unser Team setzt sich aus unterschiedlichsten Berufsgruppen und klinischen Disziplinen zusammen. Außerdem besteht eine intensive Zusammenarbeit innerhalb eines großen Netzwerks aus nationalen und internationalen Kooperationspartnern. Die Studien beinhalten teilweise zwar auch Bestandteile aus der Grundlagenforschung, sind immer klinisch orientiert. Dies ist wahrscheinlich ein Grund für die große Unterstützung der Projekte auch durch Kolleginnen und Kollegen sowie die Pflegekräfte, die primär nicht beteiligt sind. Zusätzlich unterstützt werden wir von zwei Studienschwestern, ohne deren unermüdlichen Einsatz die wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit in der bestehenden Form nicht möglich wäre. Zudem besteht eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem Statistischen Beratungszentrum der Universität Bielefeld. Selbstverständlich werden unsere Ergebnisse durch die jeweiligen Kolleginnen und Kollegen auf nationalen und internationalen Kongressen vorgestellt. Nachfolgend finden Sie einen kurzen Überblick über unser kontinuierlich wachsendes Spektrum an wissenschaftlicher Tätigkeit.

    FIN (Forschungsgemeinschaft Intensiv- und Notfallmedizin):

    In der noch jungen interdisziplinären und interprofessionellen Forschungsgruppe unter Leitung von Dr. G. Jansen werden Fragestellungen aus den Bereichen der außer- und innerklinischen Notfallmedizin sowie der Intensivmedizin wissenschaftlich untersucht. Aktuell werden retrospektive Datenbankanalysen, Simulationsstudien sowie Versorgungsforschung durchgeführt. Außerdem befindet sich ein innerklinisches Register zur innerklinischen Reanimation im Aufbau. Eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Deutschen Reanimationsregister wird angestrebt. Die FIN zeichnet sich durch Ihre unmittelbare Praxisrelevanz der Fragestellungen und Ergebnisse aus. Seit der Gründung im Januar 2019 sind aus der Gruppe bereits über 15 Abstracts sowie zwei Originalarbeiten hervorgegangen. Zudem wurde Dr. med. G. Jansen beim Deutschen interdisziplinären Notfallmedizin Kongress (DINK) in Koblenz mit einem Posterpreis ausgezeichnet. 

    FBMB (Forschungsverbund BioMedizin Bielefeld):

    In dem wissenschaftlichen Netzwerk im Sinne der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft unter Leitung des wissenschaftlichen Direktors Prof. Dr. med. F. Mertzlufft sind alle somatischen Kliniken des EvKB vertreten. Es bietet hervorragende Voraussetzungen zur interdisziplinären Vernetzung und Verbundforschung und hat bereits zahlreiche Projekte hervorgebracht. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Kooperationsvertrag mit dem Institut für Zellbiologie der Universität Bielefeld unter Leitung von Herrn Prof. Dr. rer. nat. C. Kaltschmidt. Auch unsere Klinik ist hier mit translationalen Forschungsprojekten beteiligt.

    Die Medizinische Fakultät der Universität Bielefeld befindet sich derzeit in Gründung, so dass noch keine medizinischen Promotions- und Habilitationsverfahren an der Universität Bielefeld möglich sind. Die Aufnahme des Lehrbetriebs ist für das WS 2021/2022 geplant.

    Das EvKB zählt zu den führenden Gesundheitseinrichtungen in Nordrhein-Westfalen und beschäftigt gemeinsam mit dem Krankenhaus Mara mehr als 5.000 Mitarbeitende an neun Standorten im Raum Bielefeld.

      Und Bielefeld gibt es doch!

      Bielefeld ist eine Universitätsstadt mit ca. 350.000 Einwohnern und die Metropole der Region Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Die Wohnqualität in der grünen Großstadt Bielefeld ist überdurchschnittlich hoch. Die Stadt selbst und das Umland zeichnen sich durch eine Vielzahl von Freizeitmöglichkeiten und Ausflugszielen aus. Das Ruhrgebiet liegt nur eine Autostunde entfernt. Amsterdam und Hamburg erreichen Sie in zwei Stunden. Und kaum länger brauchen Sie zur Küste. Auch mit der Bahn sind Sie von Bielefeld aus schnell in vielen großen Städten. So erreichen Sie Köln und Düsseldorf in 2 Stunden und Berlin in nur 2,5 Stunden. Bielefeld ist zwischen Dortmund und Hannover der große Halt für ICE-Züge.

      Qualitätssiegel MRSA

      Für ihre Maßnahmen gegen die Verbreitung multiresistenter Erreger (MRE) sind das Evangelische Klinikum Bethel (EvKB) und das Krankenhaus Mara vom MRE-Netzwerk Nordwest mit dem Qualitätssiegel MRSA (Methicillin-resistenter Staphylococcus aureus) ausgezeichnet worden. Das Siegel wird nur an Krankenhäuser vergeben, die in 10 verschiedenen Qualitätszielen zur Verhinderung der Verbreitung von MRSA punkten.

      Mit dem Gold-Zertifikat für die Jahre 2022 und 2023 hat das Evangelische Klinikum Bethel die höchste Auszeichnung der "Aktion saubere Hände" für Maßnahmen zur Krankenhaushygiene erhalten.
